A machine cycle, also called a processor cycle or a instruction cycle, is the basic operation performed by a central processing unit (CPU). A CPU is the main logic unit of a computer. There are four steps. Fetch - Retrieve an instruction from the memory. Decode - Translate the retrieved instruction into a series of computer commands. Execute - Execute the computer commands. Store - Write the results back in memory.
Now, let's move on to networking. Network - is a group of two or more computer systems linked together. Packet - is the unit of data that is routed between an origin and a destination on the Internet or any other packet-switched network. There are also different types of network such as LAN, WAN (two,three,four xD), MAN, WLAN, PAN, SAN and CAN (can't xD)
Data Transmission- the physical transfer of data over communication channel or medium such as copper wires, optical fibers, wireless channel and storage devices. Data are represented as electromagnetic signals such as an electrical voltage, radiowave, microwave or infrared signal.
